The Story of BMF Training

BMF Training didn’t start as a business idea.

It started from noticing a gap in how people were being trained.

There was too much focus on just working out, and not enough focus on actually helping people improve their body composition, health, movement, and long-term quality of life.

When I first became a coach, something clicked for me.

I fell in love with helping people reach their goals.

And when a client told me that I had helped change their life, I realized this wasn’t just a job for me.

This is what I was meant to do.

From that moment on, I committed myself fully.

I studied training, nutrition, and behavior change. I wanted to understand how to actually help people build strength, build habits, and build a better life.

In 2019, I made a decision that changed everything.

I was working as a manager in a gym, while also doing personal training on the side.

My boss saw what I was building and gave me an ultimatum—stay as a manager, or leave.

That decision was easy.

I chose to bet on myself and start BMF Training.

Then 2020 happened.

Like everyone, we were hit with uncertainty. But we were fortunate enough to have a group of people who continued to trust us and train with us even through lockdowns.

That period showed me something powerful:

This wasn’t just training anymore.

It was a community.

Allie has been a huge part of that journey from the beginning. While she was also running her own business, she constantly supported me and believed in what we were building, even when things were uncertain.

After lockdowns, we had to rebuild everything from the ground up.

We trained wherever we could—sharing space in a martial arts studio, slowly building equipment piece by piece. Every dollar that came in went straight back into the gym.

Eventually, it was time to find our own space.

In 2021, we moved into a 1,200 square foot industrial space in Huntington Beach.

It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t perfect. But it was ours.

We started with around 40 members and grew it to nearly 90.

That space needed over $30,000 in improvements and equipment just to function properly. We invested everything we had into making it work.

Over time, something special happened.

We didn’t just build a gym.

We built a family.

We’ve seen members lose over 50 pounds, come off medication, rebuild confidence, prepare for fights and competitions, and completely change their lives.

We’ve had members invite us to their weddings.

We’ve watched people grow not just physically, but personally.

This place has shaped me as a coach, but also as a business owner, a leader, and a father.

BMF stands for Balance, Mobility, and Functional Strength.

But to me, it means something deeper.

It represents a group of people who believe training is not just about appearance—it’s about quality of life.

We use strength training to improve how we live.

We use conditioning to extend how long we can live it.

Now, after five years in our current space, we are being asked to move.

In February of 2026, our landlord informed us that they would like the space back so they can expand their own plans.

At first, it was difficult to hear.

We had plans to continue building and maximizing that space.

But over time, I realized something important:

This isn’t the end of BMF.

It’s the next step forward.

We have found a new space that gives us the opportunity to build something better.

More room. Better equipment. A better coaching experience. A better environment for our members.

But more importantly, a better system to help people reach their goals.

We are introducing a new three-track training system:

  • Shred: fat loss and body composition

  • Strength: foundational strength development

  • Performance: advanced athletic training

This will allow us to better serve every member based on their goals.

Our vision moving forward is simple:

To help as many people as possible reach their fitness and health goals.

That has always been the reason BMF exists.

I genuinely care about every person who walks through our doors and chooses to train with us.

Their success is what drives me.

Whether someone wants to lose weight, build strength, improve their health, gain confidence, compete at a high level, or simply feel better in their everyday life, our mission is to help them get there.

We want to create a place where people come not just to train, but to transform.

A place that grows to 150 members while still maintaining quality coaching and community.

A place where personal training, small group training, and semi-private coaching all work together to deliver real results.

A place where open gym access supports recovery, mobility, and additional training for members who want more.

And beyond that, we see something even bigger.

One day, BMF will expand into a full wellness and performance center—bringing together strength training, martial arts, recovery, nutrition, and health services all under one roof.

A place where people can walk in and get everything they need to improve their health and performance in one system.

But right now, we are at the beginning of that next chapter.

And that’s why the Founders Club exists.

The BMF Founders Club is an opportunity for a limited number of people to become part of this transition and the future we are building.

Founders are not just members.

They are the people who helped make this possible.

They are part of the foundation of the next version of BMF Training.

When people walk into our new facility years from now, they will see the names of the people who helped build it.

And they will know this place didn’t happen by accident.

It was built by a community that believed in something bigger.

To me, that’s what this is about.

Not just building a gym.

But building something that lasts.

And helping more people become stronger, healthier, and more capable for years to come.
